Ted Kaptchuk, OMD is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and has a long history of commitment to multi-disciplinary approaches to East Asian medicine. His research includes randomized controlled trials and laboratory mechanism studies for acupuncture,  scholarly historical and anthropological examinations of East Asian medicine and ethical analyses of issues of acupuncture and herbal medicine. He is also considered an expert in placebo studies.
