Bob Schlagal, Ph.D. is a Professor in the Department of Language, Reading, & Exceptionalities at Appalachian State University. He has studied taiji for over 20 years (including the Yang and Chen styles) and qigong for over 10 years. He has also been a medal winning competitor in taiji and has served as a judge at national and international competitions. For the last 15 years he has taught taiji in Boone, NC. Recently, he helped to develop and currently teaches a sequence of credit bearing taiji courses at the Appalachian State University. In addition, Bob has co-authored and published several papers on the health benefits of taiji with Dr. Yang Yang.
